Railways

The introduction of the railways in Britain and elsewhere in the 1840s led to some anxiety among travellers. Charts of this kind were intended to help allay such fears by providing guides to what would be seen on route. One of a series issued by the Railway Chronicle ‘For perusal on the journey’.
