Hats

Advertising hats, made of paper, were produced as ‘freebies’ by many manufacturers of consumables. They were mainly intended for distribution to the crowds that lined the route of the ‘Tour de France’. The item at the top advertises the newspaper Sud-Ouest, a favoured area for the ‘Tour’.
