Universally used as a cheap form of receipt, especially for transport, tickets are familiar to everyone. Traditionally they have been pre-printed on paper or card, but in many situations today are printed or stamped at the time of issue. Shown here is a range of 20th-century transport tickets from different countries, some quite complex in design.
