Greetings telegrams

The idea for a ‘special occasion’ telegram originated in Germany in the late 1890s. From the 1930s the British Post Office commissioned many established designers to produce ‘Greetings Telegrams’, which were invariably printed in colour and decorated. This telegram records the date and time it was sent as 26 November 1931 at 22.15.
